Dallas’ Texas Frightmare Weekend announces yet more guests for 2009
Saskatoon native (and how many people can you say that about?) Michael Rooker has been announced as a new special guest attendee of the upcoming Texas Frightmare Weekend (May 1-3, in Dallas).
Tyler's real claim to fame has nothing to do with his Saskatchewan home territory (unless something about that far northern clime seriously disturbed his childhood), but everything to do with his selection by Rob Zombie to play the role of Michael Myers in the re-tooling of John Carpenter's Halloween horror franchise, the first episode of which appeared on movie screens in 2007. (The next chapter in the saga - H2 - is in pre-production, with a scheduled release date this August.)
Also newly appearing on the Frightmare personal appearance radar are Michael Rooker, who chillingly portrayed Henry Lee Lucas in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer; and Lar Park Lincoln, famously menaced in Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood.
Rounding out the new guest announcements is word that Dallas-reared James Hampton, who's something of a fan favorite, will be returning to the fest in '09. You may remember James from his appearances in Sling Blade, Teen Wolf and - um - F Troop.
