Awesome pastry chef leaving Craft Dallas for restaurant in San Francisco
DALLAS An ordinary pastry chef might not warrant a story unto his own. But Shannon Swindle is no ordinary pastry chef -- he's one of the best in Dallas, and his desserts have helped make Craft Dallas memorable. But soon no more, as nosy Nancy N. reports that he is leaving Dallas to work at Madera Restaurant in Menlo Park, California.
His last day at Craft will be February 12, so you have another week or so to indulge in his beignets (with fudge and caramel sauces, mmm), ice cream and sorbet tasting, chocolate souffle, ricotta cheesecake, and famed chocolate chip cookies. A spokesman for the restaurant said they have not made a decision on whether to replace him with a candidate from in-house or do an outside search.
