The Dallas Opera searching for a few eunuchs for upcoming production
The Dallas Opera is looking for a few good…eunuchs (no experience necessary-acting, or otherwise).
The company is pleased to announce an Open Casting Call for the final performances of the 2008-2009 Season, to be held Tuesday, February 10th (Contact Emily Gast at The Dallas Opera for times and location, pa@dallasopera.org or 214-443-1037).
For The Dallas Opera’s upcoming presentation of Rossini’s zany culture-clash comedy, The Italian Girl in Algiers, we are currently seeking the following:
- “Vlad the Impaler,” Chief servant, male, large, capable of an ominous appearance. Some musical ability and enough acting chops to portray a mean, low-down snarling S.O.B.
- Two Guards, also male, tall, intimidating. Girth is no object.
- Two Eunuchs, male (how did you guess?), one tall, one short, absolutely no experience necessary.
