Fort Worth’s Rahr Brewery celebrates award for Iron Thistle Ale
Fort Worth’s own Rahr Brewery announced that Rahr’s new ale, Iron Thistle, has been named National Grand Champion at the 15th annual United States Beer Tasting Championships, Scotch and Scottish Ales — Rahr’s first National Grand Champion. Rahr will celebrate this award on Friday night at 7 p.m. as the Fort Worth Scottish Pipe and Drum Corps parades through downtown Fort Worth to escort kegs of Iron Thistle into Fort Worth’s newest hotel (TABC laws prohibit Rahr from mentioning in its email, but it sure sounds like the Omni.) The pipers will assemble on Houston St between 12th & 14th Aves (just across the street form the Convention Center).
A word of warning: Scotland + Beer = Don’t up like the Piper in the clip below. “We have a piper down!” is at about the three minute mark.
