Gas compressor station proposal at Cooks and I-30 in Fort Worth nixed
Though Chesapeake wanted to withdraw the request, the city Board of Adjustment and residents turned out to officially kill the deal.
Chesapeake Energy had decided to remove its request for a natural gas compressor station at Cooks and I-30 in Fort Worth, but on Wednesday the city Board of Adjustment, and a number of residents, met anyway to officially squash the idea. That area of land is zoned for commercial use and the city's drilling ordinance require that compressor stations be built on land zoned for industrial use.
Chesapeake reportedly pull back its request to "work with the residents" and figure out a better course of action. Perhaps building it in an industrial zone would be where you start.
