New citations handed to Fair Park church that houses homeless
The Dallas International Street Church in Fair Park has been cited in the past for exceeding posted occupancy limits and a number of fire and safety measures. Though the church, which houses many of the area's homeless, has installed fire and carbon monoxide alarms, they've yet to install a sprinkler system, address exposed wire issues, and continue to house over-occupancy.
The church leaders claim that they're trying to do what is asked of them, but are worried that the time spent to make necessary fixes would put around 100 homeless people on the street.

Sounds like a job for the likes of Habitat for Humanity. I bet they could go in and do the work really quick and for very little.
