Photo Gallery: Farewell Shoes For Mr. Bush
Artists submitted politically inspired art shoes in a farewell exhibit to the Bush administration.
Decorazon Gallery opened their quirky show Farewell Shoes For Mr. Bush exhibit Thursday. Artists were asked to submit politically inspired art shoes to send off the Bush administration in one final farewell event. A steady flow of onlookers oohed, ahhed, laughed and were moved by the pieces selected for the exhibition. The exhibit was also a contest with a few different categories. Winners of the contests were:
- Honorable Mention: Burning Bush by Bryan Gooding and Souls of our Soldiers by Rebbecca Sanchez
- Best Conceptual Piece: Empty Boots by Lisa Jenkins
- Best Visual Piece: Eschew Tree by Kathy Boortz
- People's Choice Award: 3rd place - High/Low by Martin Campos, 2nd place - Eschew Tree by Kathy Boortz, 1st place - Burning Bush by Bryan Gooding
- Grand Prize: Environmentally Heavy Ouch! That's Going to Hurt by Tom Boyd-Lloyd
