Off-duty officer hurt while trying to detain a shoplifter at Fort Worth’s Hulen Mall
An off-duty police officer working as a security guard at Hulen Mall was trying to detain a shoplifter Monday night when he was dragged by the car the suspect was driving. The officer then fired multiple shots at the vehicle as it drove away. The officer suffered bruises and abrasions, it is not known if the shoplifting suspect was struck by the officer's bullets.
