Coppell City Council meets to talk about municipal elections and molybdenum
The Questa molybdenum mine in New Mexico: gear up, boys, Coppell's allowable limits are about to be quadrupled!
When the members of the Coppell City Council open their chambers to the public Tuesday evening (Feb. 10) at 7 p.m. in regular session, they'll take up the following consent items, only one of which involves molybdenum:
* whether to approve a resolution calling for a municipal election for mayor and council seats 2, 4 and 6 on Saturday, May 9, 2009 - with a provision that the Dallas County Elections Dept. will contract as election servicers
* approve parking limitations on the east side of Chateaus Dr. from Bethel Rd. to Versailles Dr.
* consider approval of an amendment to the design contract awarded to Freese & Nichols in the amount of $23,430 (re. a project on South Coppell Rd.)
* an amendment to the City of Coppell ordinance "Industrial Waste," Section 11-2-5 "Hazardous Metals and Toxic Materials (local limits)," raising the allowable local limits of molybdenum from 0.2 mg/1 to 0.8 mg/1
They will then hear a zoning change request that would allow for an internally-lit LED digital gas price sign for the convenience store on the N.E. corner of SH 121 and Denton Tap Rd., followed by reports from the mayor and councilmember Tunnell, who will talk about the Metroplex Mayors' Meeting and the Elected Officials Roundtable, respectively.
