North Texas-based Idearc Inc., which, among other things, is the parent company of Superpages.com and publishes the Verizon Yellow Pages, is rumored to be pursuing "a prepackaged bankruptcy or distressed debt exchange as they struggle to overcome high debt loads."
Guess Smirnoff Superpages.com Center is gonna have another name change soon...
Update: Yep. It's official.

It is amazing how these huge conglomerates are falling piece by piece. I know people who work over at Idearc Inc., they are good people and innovative. I hope they dont lose their jobs. Idearc has a competitive demeanor and they will overcome these small obstacles put forth like Rocky Balboa. We here at GuiasLocal.com, wish Idearc Inc. much success and prosperity in 09. Stay Strong and logical.

As I've advocated many times before, I would love to see it christened "The Baby Dolls Metroplex Musictron 3000.com".

Hmmm... despite my repeated calls, I find 3 and 4 copies of the Verizon yellow pages outside my door - I only need 1 copy, honest.
Then come multiple copies of the Spanish version, I don't need any.
Let's not forget they aren't left on the porch/stoop/etc, no they're tossed somewhere on the sidewalk (even under the shrubs) for me to find eventually.
Think this type of mismanagement might be adding to the debt ratio?
