North Texas-area students getting free prom dresses for not drinking
BuzzFree, a prom safety program designed to encourage students not to drink or use drugs, is giving away free prom dresses to around 300 girls from eight North Texas school districts, including Dallas, Mesquite, Garland, and Grand Prairie. The girls will attend a series of classes on Feb. 28 to teach them about the dangers of alcohol and drug use, sign a promise not to partake in them, and will then be rewarded with their dresses. Students in the program must have been nominated by their school staff and be in good academic standing.
