Possible tornado damages homes in Colleyville
The short-lived but powerful storm that tore through the Dallas-Fort Worth area last night may or may not have contained a tornado that damaged several homes in Colleyville. A rotating cloud was reported, but officials won't know until today if it was actually a twister. Meanwhile, our old friend Catherine Cuellar is quoted as saying more than 15,000 homes in the area lost power at some point last night, but the vast majority had their power reinstated shortly thereafter.
NBC made a big deal about people attending the opening of Wolfgang Puck's new restaurant being evacuated from Reunion Tower last night, but I have not been able to track down the video (everybody was fine, and well-fed, I'm sure). I know I had a moment of pause when I heard the tornado sirens go off in Plano for the first time since I've lived there, but the tornado gods didn't have it in for us, I guess.

I understand they have now declared that is was an F1 tornado in Colleyville, a little over a mile from our house. I drove past the damage on my way to work this morning - saw some split trees, roof damage, a neighborhood tennis court fence that had been ripped down, and some scattered debris. The damage was very localized, though, from what I could see. I can also report that the tornado sirens in Colleyville sound odd - almost like wind whistling through the eaves, rather than like the sirens we used to hear in Dallas.

So, Alex, you go to bed early or something? There was a serious one just last month or so about 12:45 a.m.
Yeah last night we were rehearsing in front of two huge plate glass windows. We opted to run lines in the kitchen for a while.
There are no heroes offstage, after all.
