Savor Dallas will honor legendary Texas businesswoman Caroline Rose Hunt with an unprecedented two Lone Star Awards this year. Hunt will receive the Lone Star Award for Culinary Achievement and the "Texas Spirit" award for her business achievements. It's the first time the annual wine and food event has extended two of its five annual awards to one individual.

"Her contributions to cuisine, culture, and business are so enormous, we easily could have given her three awards!" remarked Vicki Briley-White, Founder of Savor Dallas "We are so proud to be able to add our recognition to Mrs. Hunt's lengthy list of well-earned honors."

The 2009 Lone Star Awards will be officially presented at the Savor Dallas Reserve Tasting in the Nasher Sculpture Center on March 7.

Caroline Rose Hunt has made tremendous positive contributions to Dallas and North Texas business and the region and state's image worldwide. Rescuing a 1920s Dallas Mansion from being torn down, she created the nationally-acclaimed Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, bringing Dallas to the forefront in fine dining and culinary experiences.

She is now Honorary Chairman of the company she founded, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, known for being the best in luxury accommodations. Mrs. Hunt also founded Lady Primrose's Royal Bathing & Skin Luxuries, and is a business investor, philanthropist, recognized leader in the travel industry, author, mother of five, grandmother of nineteen and great-grandmother of twelve.

Demonstrating her Texas Can Do Spirit and unstoppable energy, she has received nearly 40 honors for her business and philanthropic leadership, is a current member of nine boards and participated as honorary chair, chair, co-chair or speaker in close to 50 events.
