Carrollton police will impound proof of insurance-less vehicles starting February 16
Starting February 16, 2009 the Carrollton Police Department will begin enforcing a new city ordinance enacted by the Carrollton City Council. The ordinance authorizes officers to impound vehicles that have been stopped for violations of city or state traffic laws or other laws applicable to the operation of a vehicle on the roadway and the vehicle’s owner or operator fails to show proof of financial responsibility as required by the Texas Transportation Code.
Motorists are reminded to always carry proof of valid insurance or other proof of financial responsibility as required by the Texas Transportation Code.
