Texas House bill would allow disabled people to use ATVs on city streets
A bill by State Rep. Dennis Bonnen (R-Angleton) would allow disabled persons to utilize all-terrain vehicles on city streets legally under certain restrictions.
The bill, HB 1163, would allow cities with populations under 35,000 to license ATV’s for use by the handicapped on city streets (with the exception of Interstates and limited access highways).
Under current Texas law, ATVs are not licensed to travel on public streets or roadways except under very limited circumstances.
