Dallas county deputies, jail guards have tough time with new test
The Dallas County Sheriff's Dept. came up with a new test this year for jail supervisors and sergeants. A significantly smaller percentage of people passed the test than had passed the old one. And apparently the county human resources director - and others - are concerned about this outcome.
Why worry? If, as stated, the test (composed of 100 multiple choice questions) is designed to identify the top scoring and most knowledgeable candidates, and enough people pass it to fill the leadership positions available (which they did), then shouldn't this simply be an indication to those who flunked the test that they should just study harder next time?
