Dallas’ Studio Movie Grill to host local Oscar Night America party

On Oscar night (Sunday, Feb. 22), Dallasites can get the flavor of the gala Hollywood event by attending an Oscar Night America Party to celebrate the 81st Academy Awards at the Studio Movie Grill at Royal and Central.

The centerpiece of the evening will of course be the telecast (to a large theater screen, courtesy of WFAA-TV) of the Hollywood awards ceremonies. But there's more on tap for attendees (who will have spent $45 to $75 per person on their admission to the benefit event - or $1,500 for a VIP box).

Everyone attending will receive an official program that is identical to the one distributed at the Oscar presentations at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. Plus, they'll receive complimentary champagne, a light dinner buffet prepared by chef Thad Kelly and an opportunity to bid on auction items such as movie tickets, artwork, autographed commemorative posters and movie DVDs.

Film critic Gary Cogill of WFAA-TV will introduce the event. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the telecast begins at 7.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Dallas-based USA Film Festival and their KidFilm DISD outreach programs.

For more information, or to order your tickets, call the USA Film Festival at 214-821-6300, or inquire at usafilmfestival@aol.com.
