TCU Energy Club welcomes T. Boone Pickens to March town hall meeting
The billionaire oil tycoon will elaborate on his proposals for gaining our national energy independence... and, he'll sign a few books.
Texas oilman and wheeler-dealer T. Boone Pickens is no stranger to the international spotlight: being the country's 117th richest man, one might expect nothing less. Most recently, he's been heard trumpeting his plan for U.S. energy independence hither and yon; he was also the prize in a recent charitable auction held to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters - some "lucky" (and generous) winner paid $125,000 for the chance to sit down and eat a steak dinner with the Mesa Petroleum founder at Nick & Sam's.
The Pickens Plan – Ending our Dependence on Foreign Oil

Well, it turns out you don't have to pay $125,000 to sit in the same room with T. Boone: witness the forthcoming Town Hall Meeting to be hosted by the Texas Christian University Energy Club, during which Pickens will discuss his energy independence plan.
The first 200 students to show up with their TCU IDs will each receive a signed copy of Pickens' book, The First Billion is the Hardest. (Or maybe I juxtaposed this, and the first billion students to arrive will receive a copy of The First 200 is the Hardest. I'm so confused...)
The event - which features a Q&A session following the presentation - starts at 4:30 on March 2 in TCU's Brown-Lupton University Union Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public, but you'll want to RSVP right away as there is limited seating available. To reserve your seat, call 817-257-5976, or email officialeventsrsvp@tcu.edu.
