Audio: Mandrake FM talks with G. Love of G. Love & Special Sauce
His music has been called bluesy hip-hop to college roots-rock. What ever you call it, the sound of G. Love & Special Sauce, has been a unique blend since 1994 with the release their self-titled debut on Epic/Okeh records.
Fast forward past band breakups and reunions, solo work, and three record labels later, G. Love (nie Garrett Dutton III) continues his dedication to his music and the party life. In preparation for his upcoming show in Dallas on February 26 at the House of Blues, G. Love recently spoke with me about touring Dallas, the Do-It-Yourself promotion of his band through blogging and social networks, and his upcoming musical projects. His latest project, Superhero Brother, on Jack Johnson’s Brushfire Records.
