Heath City Council schedules two-day, off-site, big-picture brainstorming session

Here's hoping they don't confuse "ordinance development" with "ordnance development."

The Heath City Council has scheduled an off-site two-day (well, one and a half days, if you want to get technical about it) work session for Friday, Feb. 20 and Saturday, Feb. 21, beginning at 9 a.m. on the 20th at the Star Brand Ranch Conference Center in Kaufman, Texas.

Even though there's a lot of business on their agenda, the various presentations, trainings and updates will be punctuated by lunches, dinners and various refreshment interludes to make the whole work session thing far more palatable. (The plush facilities should have a soothing effect, also.)

Here's a quick rundown on the agenda items:

Friday:

* Financial status presentation

* Dept. of Public Safety presentation

* Public Works presentation

* TXDOT update

* EDC update

* ETJ (extra-territorial jurisdiction) discussion, including an annexation update

* Comprehensive Plan evaluation and updates, including the Thoroughfare Plan

* Take Area subleasing program update

* Open Govt. training

Saturday morning:

* CIP (capital improvement plan) discussion and prioritization

* Terry Park regulations

* Utilities report

* Roadway Maintenance discussion

* Election information

* Ordinance Development

The Saturday session will conclude just before the noon hour with a recap from the Mayor and City Manager.
