Men's Health magazine recently issued a list of the "20 Worst Foods in America" that's bad news for Dallas-based Brinker International: Of the 20 items on the list, almost half of them are served by Brinker properties.
Winning the prize for "Worst Starter" is Chili's Awesome Blossom, which has 2,710 calories and 203 grams fat.
"Worst Pasta" goes to Macaroni Grill's Spaghetti and Meatballs with Meat Sauce, which has 2,430 calories, 128 grams fat, 207 carbs, and a mere 5,290 mg sodium -- all the calories you need for an entire day.
Macaroni Grill is also villainously behind the "Worst Kids' Meal" with its Macaroni Grill Double Macaroni 'n' Cheese, which the magazine says is the equivalent of 1 1/2 boxes of Kraft mac & cheese, with 1,210 calories, 62 g fat, and 3,450 mg sodium.
"Worst Nachos" go to On the Border's Stacked Border Nachos, 2,740 calories per serving. On the Border also scores the "Worst Fish Entree" for its Dos XX Fish Tacos with Rice and Beans, with 2,100 calories and 130 grams fat, as well as the "Worst Salad" with its Grande Taco Salad with Taco Beef, which has 1,450 calories, 102 g fat, 78 g carbs, and 2,410 mg sodium. Jeez, how do you screw up salad? But, as Men's Health says, "This isn't an anomaly: Five different On the Border salads contain more than 1,100 calories each."
Chili's is responsible for the "Worst Chicken Entree" with its Chili's Honey Chipotle Crispers with Chipotle Sauce (2,040 calories and 99 grams fat) as well as the "Worst Dessert": Chili's Chocolate Chip Paradise Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream which provides 1,600 calories, 78 g fat, and 215 g carbs.

you can't order the awesome blossom and think you're doing yourself any favors.

Over e-mail, I received a correction that Brinker/Chili's discontinued the Awesome Blossum some time ago. I haven't verified, but if true, it looks like Men's Health (and we, by extension) should research further. I haven't ordered one in forever, so perhaps I missed its removal. Must try harder. :-)

Treat this story as entirely a statement of the dire editorial state of 'Men's Health'.

Mr. Dunck, you are correct. Chili's discontinued the Awesome Blossom a few months ago.
