Dallas radio station KMVK-FM “Movin’ 107.5” is now Spanish adult contemporary “Mega 107.5”

Great move! The local Spanish culture spends lots of "hard-earned" money in Dallas. They deserve to take-over the Moving 107.5 FM radio spot, now revenues will increase for that station. they changed the format due to lack of profitability, period

Michael, the Oasis WAS THE best. I used it in my offices as backround noise, "on-hold" telephone music and much more. I just don't understand why Dallas does not have one smooth/jazz/aura type music station.

This is such an extremley bad decision here, on the part of CBS Radio. Why they chose to put another Spanish radio station on the airwaves here in Dallas is beyond me! This is by far one of the worst decisions in a radio format switch that I have seen in recent memory.

Movin' 107.5 was the only radio station in this major radio market known as Dallas/Ft.Worth (the #5 U.S. radio market by the way, acoording to RadioandRecords.com) that played such an outstanding mix and wide variety of popular up-tempo/upbeat Top 40, classic disco, dance music and freestyle and so much "old school" that listeners coast to coast have come to relish. This "Rhythmic AC" format, as the industry calls it, has been extremely successful in other major radio markets, and Dallas was one of the first to jump on this format nearly 2 1/2 years ago, when "Movin' 107.5" made its debut.

The "powers-that-be" at radio, have made some hideously stupid choices in the past here in DFW, but this one really takes the cake! And don't think for one minute that most of the loyal "Movin'" listeners are gonna go back to KISS-FM, because basically in a nut shell, KISS-FM here in Dallas, like most Clear Channel owned Top 40 radio stations, SUCKS!! They basically cater to housewives and pre-teens, and their music mix is horrible, with no re-currents, gold library or any type of Rhythmic-oriented dance material.

I am so glad that we live in an age where there are so many other music choices out there, like satellite radio and internet streaming. I for one, intend to keep my Sirius/XM satellite radio subscription as it offers so many choices, similar to the Rhythmic format that "Movin'" had to offer. And the internet is full of so many similar choices as well, like KTU.com in New York, among other stations in other U.S. cities that you can stream over the internet.

At this point, I am totally done with local terrestial radio in the Dallas/Ft. Worth radio market, and probably for good. CBS will more than likely regret this decision, as well as any others that they have planned at other major market stations in the coming weeks. Trust me folks, I've worked in radio for several years now and I know exactly what I am talking about.

I will have to agree with Michael (gasp!) that the Oasis mix was a least something different on the dial, and it got better (for me) with Ramsey Lewis' Legends of Jazz show (as I appreciate more traditional jazz) especially since I can barely pick the Denton jazz station.

Another reason why I hope SoundExchange will "do right" by other webcasters so we don't lose their variety.

It only makes sense that a radio station here in Dallas would change to a Spanish speaking format.
Mexico has been a failed state for a long time. And during that time a great many folks from that failed state have moved into our neighborhoods- "...borrowing a cup of sugar?".
