• Get some music and entertainment memorabilia at Heritage Galleries' auction
• The biggest Mardis Gras party is the MystiQal parade and festival in downtown Dallas.
• There's also a full day of bands and food at Fair Park
• It's another big day of gallery openings. My pick: Kettle Art is selling 50 artists' work for (roughly) $50 in a benefit show.
• There's a huge hip-hop bill in Denton at Chaos Control.

sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY:

• Mardis Gras goes to the dogs at the Krewe of Barkus parade
• Get the Oscar red carpet treatment at the Modern in Fort Worth
• Loretta Lynn is at the HOB -- and don't miss local openers Smile Smile.
• Be sure to wear your Sunday best to see Slipknot / Coheed and Cambria at Nokia as well as the afterparty at Reno's Chop Shop.
