Coppell City Council still messing around with pesky molybdenum level provisions
When we last reported on the agenda of the Coppell City Council, they were considering adjusting the allowable levels of molybdenum under the terms of city ordinance by raising them from .2 mg/1 to .8 mg/1 - and apparently, they are still mulling over this alteration to section 11-2-5, "Hazardous Metals and Toxic Materials (local limits)" - as it is back on the agenda for their next meeting, which takes place on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. at Coppell Town Center (i.e., City Hall).
But first, they'll consider approval of a proclamation naming Feb. 24 - March 1, 2009 as Severe Weather Awareness Week - operating under the perhaps fanciful notion that something other than ground clutter will be appearing on local doppler radars in the near-term future.
Following a report by the Library Board and citizen appearances, Council will take up a couple of "no parking" area designations (one along both sides of Creekview Dr. from Royal Ln., w. and s. to the intersection with Bethel Rd.; and the other on both sides of Point West Blvd. between I-635 and Dividend Dr.). They will then consider a bid turned in by Styles Contracting to perform sidewalk pavement repairs, to the tune of $107,065 (with a contingency overage amount of $13,000 waiting in the figurative wings).
The evening's business will be rounded out by reports from the mayor and council committees, to wit:
* Mayor Stover reports on legislative meetings
* Councilperson (CP) Tunnell talks about Carrollton/Farmers Branch ISD and Lewisville ISD
* CPs Peters and Hinojosa-Flores hold forth on the subject of Coppell ISD
* Assembled folk will get an earful on the topic of Coppell Seniors courtesy of CPs Brancheau and Faught
* CP Peters will retake the podium to speak about the Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition
* Peters again (hope he brought a beverage with him) on the DFW Airport Board
* Brancheau returns for info on the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives
* Tunnell is back to talk about the Metrocrest Hospital Authority
* CP Hunt makes her first speaking appearance of the evening to update the assembly on the Metrocrest Medical Foundation
* Hinojosa-Flores returns for a report on Metrocrest Medical Services
* Hunt again, on Metrocrest Social Service Center
* CP Peters takes the mike for an update on the North Texas Council of Governments
* CP Franklin emerges from the wings to report on North Texas Council of Govt.'s/Regional Emergency Management issues
* Franklin holds the high ground for a report on the North Texas Commission
* Faught makes a comeback to talk about Senior Adult Services
And that's a wrap.
