Burning bans ramping up north and west of Dallas
Collin County officials announced a ban on outdoor burning for the next three months. They join Tarrant, Denton, Ellis, Rockwall and Kaufman counties, who already have burn bans up, thanks to the dry weather that has everyone afraid of wildfires. So no more lighting matches to the hillside, no more dropping cups of kerosene in the road and then igniting them, no more flicking your lighter near the pile of oily rags in your neighbor's garage.
