Mesquite AMC announces addition of IMAX theater
From the AMC folks comes word that they're opening a new IMAX theater at the Mesquite 30. The new facility will celebrate its opening on March 6 when the eagerly-anticipated Watchmen movie makes its appearance on area theater screens.
The Mesquite IMAX location will join existing area IMAX theaters at Fair Park, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History and the Cinemark 17 at Webb Chapel and LBJ.
Here's a rundown of upcoming films that will be released in the IMAX format - some of them in 3D - with opening dates:
Monsters vs. Aliens (March 27, 2009); Star Trek (May 8, 2009); Night at The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (May 22, 2009); Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (June 26, 2009); Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Summer 2009); Disney’s A Christmas Carol (Nov. 6, 2009); Avatar (Dec. 18, 2009); How to Train Your Dragon (March 26, 2010) and Shrek Goes Fourth (May 21, 2010).
