Actor-turned-scotch ambassador Andrew Weir to oversee scotch tasting dinner at Second Floor Bistro at Galleria Dallas
Scotch has gone mainstream and is attracting more youthful drinkers who enjoy and appreciate its sophisticated flavors. Gone are the days of middle-aged men puffing on a cigar while sipping their scotch. Whether you indulge regularly or want to try something new, let The Second Floor Bistro and Bar show you the way during a scotch tasting and dinner on Thursday, March 5 at 7 p.m.
With more than 60 selections of scotch, The Second Floor touts one of the most complete inventories in the Metroplex. Let the experts at The Second Floor and special guest, Andrew Weir, Balvenie Ambassador - USA, educate you on the subtle differing qualities and intricate flavors of 5 scotches to be featured while enjoying a 4 course dinner crafted by Chef Scott Gottlich and prepared by Executive Chef J. Chastain.
Weir, a native of Scotland and currently based in San Francisco, serves as Western USA Ambassador for Balvenie Distillery. The Scottish distillery is known for its handcrafted single malt whiskey. Weir travels the U.S. educating scotch connoisseurs and novices alike of the Balvenie Distillery and its history.
Movie fanatics may recognize a young Weir from his debut movie role playing "Young Hamish" in Mel Gibson's Braveheart. Since then, he has had success with a host of television, film, radio and theatre productions including, a stint on BBC's popular children's show, G-Force. In addition to his acting roles, Weir also has found success as an entrepreneur with United Casting, an agency for extras and background artists and 3rd Degree Burns, a themed entertainment group celebrating Scotland's famous poet and lyricist, Robert Burns.

Located in Westin Galleria Dallas hotel, the Second Floor also features eight groupings of scotches ranging from $15- $40 and available daily. All scotch flights are 3/4 oz. pours unless otherwise specified.
