Texas Woman’s University hosts expert on Chicano immigrant rights movement March 5

Dr. Anita Tijerina Revilla, assistant women’s studies professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas will explore Chicano activism and immigration rights during “This is How We Roll: Chicana/o Student Activism and the Immigration Rights Movement” March 5 at the TWU Denton campus.

Dr. Tijerina Revilla is a noted expert on Chicano studies, critical race theory, critical race feminism, Latino critical theory and education. Her independent research focuses on the intersections of race, class, gender, sexuality and immigrant status in the experiences of Chicanos and Latinos and how it relates to student activism, social movements and social justice education.

What: “This is How We Roll: Chicana/o Student Activism and the Immigration Rights Movement.” The event is free and open to the public.

When: 7 p.m. Thursday, March 5
