D Magazine’s various assorted blogs all out of commission

FrontBurner, SideDish, Overheard, and the various other blogs belonging to the D Magazine "empire" all seem to be dysfunctional on Thursday afternoon. (Although their print product site still works.) Hmmm, mysterious! Not unlike the series of mysterious posts editor Tim Rogers made this week alluding to an imminent change. Oooooh. Seems like they must be relaunching their sites or something. Unless -- maybe there's a medical emergency?

Yeah it's too bad because there was a killer comment section going on about last night's Top Chef Carla vs. Casey debacle. Last I saw it was up to 94 mostly vicious comments. Hope it doesn't get lost...

Hi TG! I can't get on SideDish--Casey Thompson haters have crashed the server. It's a mean, mean, mean world.

Rawlins Gilliland, says:

Here are the disconnect rumors overhead at Angelo's in Fort Worth somewhere between the onion rings and the cauldron of sauces.

Around dawn, 'food and travel goddess editor' Nancy Nichols was having her usual morning rundown in the 'D' executive spa when a 'new hire transexual intern' nicknamed 'Mole' offered to pour molten paraffin on the fabled Nichols torso in what was described as being considered as a 'pre-bikini wax promo' to be offered with each new subscription of the 'D' magazines.

What followed was described by a passerby who remains anonymous was an 'incident' that involved the SWAT team after a series of frantic calls from 'legal titans' 'jockeying for PR position' as Nichols was still 'in hiding' somewhere 'near that ungodly expensive cupcake place'.

The rest of what I was told is unconfirmed so I won't pass any unsubstantiated rumors.

Gracias. Or as La Nichols has been known to say, 'Grassy Ass'. Pre-paraffin.

Lisa Lawrence Merritt, says:

Well.... for the past week on The Burn (FrontBurner) there have been three or four posts begun with the headline "Change on Friday."

Lots of speculation was bandied about as to what this cryptic message meant.

Sounds as if there was a preemptive strike today rather than waiting for Friday.

I will miss Timmy and Eric.
