Only highway projects in DFW receiving stimulus funding are in Tarrant County
On Wednesday, the Texas Department of Transportation released its list of projects in Texas receiving stimulus package funding. The only two in Dallas-Fort Worth are in Tarrant County. The DFW connector, which will rebuild the Grapevine clusterfunnel, is receiving $250 million in federal funds. The Southwest Parkway, a proposed toll road from downtown Fort Worth to southwest Fort Worth, and someday to Cleburne, is portioned $143.9 million. Apparently, some other highways projects could benefit from the stimulus money by proxy.
The two Tarrant County projects are among 21 total in the state slated for $1.2 billion in sweet, sweet stimulus money.
