Weekend weather in North Texas to be mild, bland, totally uninteresting

0

Give me a good cold spell any January day - go ahead, give me one. That's what I expect to get this time of year, maybe even a nice ice storm to knock out power for just long enough to make life (briefly) interesting. (We don't know what we've got 'til it's gone - that sort of thing.)

Kids just want to have cold-weather fun! DAMMIT!

But on this second day of Jan., 2009 - when the final Cotton Bowl game is due to be played in the actual Fair Park-based Cotton Bowl before the whole shooting match up and moves to Arlington next year - the National Weather Service tells us it'll be sunny with a high around 72.

Sheesh. If I wanted to live in Southern California, I'd move there. (And I don't. So I won't.)

Saturday going into Sunday we're looking at a 78 degree high before a blue norther dips down to bring temps back closer to their norm, with a high on Sunday expected near 50.

A chance of rain doesn't come into play until late Sunday going into Monday, with the best opportunity coming right about when most folks will be motoring off to the office for the first normal work week in a fortnight.

January? Seems more like June.
