Heath mayor John Ratcliffe: he wields the power to execute (agreements, that is)

When the Heath City Council meets on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 7:30 p.m. (in City Hall), they're scheduled to take up the following items:

* approval of the second reading of an ordinance to annex 83.83 acres of property in the A. Rodriguez Survey and the J. Canter Survey

* approval of supplemental city code ordinances (with provision for a severability clause)

* approval of participation in the Alliance of TXU/Oncor Cities and employment of legal counsel in this regard

* discussion and action re. a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute a settlement agreement with Southwestern Bell/AT&T Texas pertaining to use of easement along Rabbit Ridge Road near its intersection with FM 550

* discussion and action re. an amendment to the city's fee schedule for fiscal year Oct. 1, 2008 - Sept. 30, 2009 to reduce rates charged for collection, handling and disposal of municipal and construction waste

* discussion and action on the broad topic of municipal sewer service to Heath, Forney, McLendon-Chisholm, Rockwall and unincorporated areas

After which, it's Miller Time. (Or maybe I'm just projecting.)
