League of Women voters to hold forum on electric utility rates
Have deregulation and competition reduced our costs for electricity? How do Texas rates compare with the National average?
When we contract for "renewable energy," what are we really buying? All electrons look alike and arrive over the same wires.
These are issues that our Moderator, State Representative Terri Hodge, will be putting to our blue ribbon panel consisting of State Representative Will Hartnett, who sits on the State Committee for Regulated Industries, Kelli Rod, Director - Community Relations, TXU, Commissioner Ken Anderson, Public Utilities Commission of Texas, and Lue Taff, Director of the The Senior Source's Elder Support Program.
Join us at this Issue Forum arranged by our Evening Unit to learn more and ask your own questions about how electric utilities are operating and doing business in our State!
7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 7
