Collin College announces free self-improvement business workshop
Looking for concrete tools to improve your chances for business/individual success in a challenging economic environment? Got four hours to spare on Jan. 28? Read on.
Collin College has scheduled a free four-hour business workshop for Wed., Jan. 28 entitled "Thrive, Not Just Survive." The workshop is free, and runs from 8 a.m. - noon. The event will take place at the Courtyard Center for Professional and Economic Development, 4800 Preston Park. Blvd. (in Plano).
Heading up the program (as keynote speaker) will be Dr. Terry Clower, associate director of the Center for Economic Development and Research at the University of North Texas. Dr. Clower is thought of as a workforce development and trend expert - thus who better to lead a proceedings designed to help folks to discover new job opportunities, build up some recession-proof skills or develop their career plans for the future?
The workshop will include breakout sessions on specialized topics (career strategies for individuals; marketing activities for entrepreneurs), and will provide (it says here) "concrete tools" to assist attendees in making changes to foster individual and/or business success - even in the challenging economic climate of today (and, presumably, tomorrow).
The event is being co-sponsored by Collin College's Continuing Education and Center for Workforce and Economic Development; Collin College's Business Solutions Group; and the Collin Small Business Development Center.
Your zero dollar registration fee includes a continental breakfast (referencing a continent that typically serves nothing but muffins, juice and coffee for breakfast - I'm guessing Antarctica) and of course will feature the side benefit of offering networking opportunities galore. BUT space is limited to 100 attendees, so be sure to register early (to avoid disappointment, as they say) by calling 972-985-3770, or directing your browser here.
