Pegasus News week in view: New day edition

Game: Modano made the All-Star team as the Stars had an otherwise mixed week ... The Cupcheck suggests a venue change for the Winter Classic ... The Cowboys gained a special teams coach and lost a video game character ... The Mavs beat the Clippers and faced trade rumors ... The Fiesta Bowl captivated local viewers.
Best bites: It was a fishy week, as Pescabar and Mainstream Fish House bit the dust, but the Mainstream spot was quickly filled by a Rockfish ... Teresa dug into Rockwall's Cote D' Azur, Kyoto Japanese and The Aardvark's expansion to add dining to its music lineup ... Food Network was all over town this week ... Gay List Daily likes The Oasis for brunch.
Music: PegNews community member Bill Holston had a positive take on Doug Burr's new Psalm-based album, The Shawl ... Erin caught up with Fair to Midland as they previewed their new songs at the Curtain Club ... Zach Lewis caught the Emily Elbert fever that most of us have had for some time.
Schools: Best Southwest Citizen handicaps the Lancaster ISD superintendent hunt ... TCU is going green(er).
Risky Bidness: Everyone's cashing in on Obamania, including the inauguration ... If you haven't heard, there's some kind of digital TV conversion on the way ... If locally-owned retailers' holiday sales are any indicator, batten down the hatches.

- One of my faves, Johnny Lloyd Rollins, headlines a gig with Bridges and Blinking Lights as well as RTB2.
- Cheech and Chong light up the Majestic.
- The Rose Marine Theater hosts a weekend of belly dancing.
- The Black Academy of Arts and Letters sponsors a dialogue between Jews and African-Americans.
- Learn how to pitch really well.
- I'll confess I know nothing about it, but I have to give a nod on name alone to UTD's SUAAB Death Match Ginormous Prize Bingo.
- Colin Boyd celebrates a CD release at City Tavern.
- Catch the last day of the Texas Fishing and Outdoor Show in Arlington (all weekend).
- If that's too outdoorsy for you, there's a Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts fest in Grapevine (Saturday too.)
- Or, if you prefer the open road, the Longhorn Ballroom hosts the Dallas Chopper Show.
