Six Flags one step closer to beer sales
Yeah, but just imagine what they'll charge for a stinkin' Bud Lite.

If Tanya Cooper, an administrative law judge, has anything to say about it (and she just did, in her official capacity), Six Flags (and Hurricane Harbor) will soon be serving beer to park visitors.
The whole thing now rests on the decision-making shoulders of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC), which will make the final call on awarding the alcohol license.
While some Arlington city leaders (and concerned citizens) are on record as opposing the sale of beer in the kid-oriented amusement park, the TABC says that judges' recommendations are usually honored by the commission with a ruling in line with their judgement.
Tanya Cooper: prosit!

Score one for the good guys!
I dont get why the idiots contengent up here sees such a big problem with serving beer/wine by the cup/glass to consenting adults. Its done at Sea World/SFFT and many other parks around this country, yet you see youth groups(church/civic/schools) there all the time w/o issues.

Let's just hope it doesn't go the way of Chuck E. Cheese and turn into a brawl fest.

If I was given a vote, I'd vote against beer and wine sales at Six Flags. (Wine probably comes from a box anyway.)
But I think it could be okay provided that it had to be consumed inside the restaurant in which it was served.

from what I remember from earlier stories on this is that there was some sort of provision that required it to be consumed in certain areas of the park, so it's not like there will be frat-guys chugging a beer bong in line for the mini-mine train or something.

I still don't see the logic in having a few and then riding the rides. And the first time Doyle, Pavel or the likes yak on me...it's all over with then!

You're not going to see alot of that, ive been to SFFT/Seaworld and they closely monitor drinking/behavior there. They will boot someone from the park if they catch someone as much a slurring.
