Bushes’ new Dallas neighbors plot construction of security gate on their street
DALLAS — The residents of one Daria Drive in Dallas' Preston Hollow district had a neighborhood klatch at Tom Hicks' house to discuss the new security gate they want to erect, to prevent people like you and me from doing drive-bys after ex-President George Bush moves back to Dallas.
They decided the gate should be on Daria Drive, which is a dead-end street south of Meaders Lane, rather than on the cul-de-sac Daria Place, where Bush will live.

Will the security gate be just that a secured entrance, or will it be a point at which nobody, other than residents and approved guests can pass beyond. Kinda like check point charlie in east/west Berlin.
If no public access is allowed, then the wealthy residents need to purchase the right of way, pay for utilities, and receive no public services that are provided for along the closed off road section.

Great question. Guess I was wrong about the Bush's REALLY moving in that home. Good gosh, if I was a neighbor, I would be nervous living so close to such a high profile man, known world-wide.

*For what it's worth postscript:* I actually spoke at length the other night quite by accident to a woman who lives three doors from the new Bush home. She is not thrilled with the fallout from this move, although she was plainly a fan of the president and Mrs. Bush. In fact, she said she and her husband have decided to move.

Yeah, that would be the end of skinny dipping in the back yard or hanky panky with the neighbor. I would bet the Secret Service is going to have a dossier full of the comings and goings of every one on that block.
