Texas House bill would create a UNT pharmacy school in Dallas
State Rep. Helen Giddings (D-DeSoto) has introduced legislation which would create a pharmacy school in Dallas.
The bill, HB 519, would allow the University of North Texas System to establish the UNT System School of Pharmacy in Dallas.
The bill will become part of the University of North Texas at Dallas once UNT-Dallas has been a general academic teaching institution for five years. It is unclear exactly when the school would be established, but the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has until June 1, 2010 to conduct a study “of the actions the system has taken or must take to obtain accreditation of the school of pharmacy.”
