Dallas Morning News and Fort Worth Star-Telegram to share sports coverage

The deal will allow the two largest North Texas newspapers to cut costs.

The Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram announced on Monday that they'll begin sharing sports coverage on February 1.

The News will cover the Dallas Mavericks and the Dallas Stars, while the Star-Telegram will cover Texas Rangers. They'll each cover the Dallas Cowboys on their own. They'll share coverage of some college teams but will not share sports columnists.
