Grapevine branch of Ruggeri’s closes, becomes The Library
GRAPEVINE Ruggeri's in Grapevine, located in the lobby of the Residence Inn, has shut down and been replaced by an in-house concept called The Library Bar & Grill.
"Ruggeri's closed the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, it's been about two months," said an employee at the restaurant. "We still have the same chef, but now we offer chicken-fried steak, sandwiches, salads -- it's basically a completely different menu."
Another change: The restaurant no longer occupies the so-called "dining room" space in the lobby -- which was always an odd shoe-horned kind of deal. Instead, the restaurant has moved to the bar area, and the old dining room has become a rental space for private functions.
Ruggeri's was started by veteran restaurateur Tom Ruggeri, whose namesake restaurant was originally located in Dallas' Uptown district for nearly 20 years. He opened a branch on Royal Lane in Dallas in 2006 where he still presides; there's also a branch in Colleyville that's owned and operated for a former Ruggeri's manager.
