Cedar Hill city councilman Wade Emmert may run for Dallas County judge
Yes, the calendar just turned over to 2009 but the 2010 Dallas County judge’s race is already the topic of much discussion. Current County Judge Jim Foster does not rank very high on the popularity list. There will be strong opposition from his own party as there’s much debate about whether Foster is the best Democrat to hold the seat.
Dallas County Democrats are having a good run, even getting Sheriff Lupe Valdez back into office despite continued concerns about the county jail. The recent arrest of a deputy in connection with cocaine charges is not doing a lot to inspire confidence in Valdez’s leadership.
The list of candidates that might try to replace Foster is now said to include current Dallas council member Angela Hunt, former councilman and recent mayoral runner-up Ed Oakley, and Cedar Hill councilman Wade Emmert.
Emmert has made no official announcement yet. But that’s not stopping entities like the Dallas Morning News, Best Southwest Blog and now Best Southwest Citizen from mentioning his name.
