UPDATED: Four children burned with sulfuric acid admitted to Parkland Memorial Hospital
Cynthia Darlene Stout has been arrested and charged with child endangerment for abandoning her four children after they were burned by sulfuric acid. The children, ages 14, 7, 4, and 18-months, were burned when a container of the substance burst in the family's pickup truck. Instead of calling 911 or driving her children to the hospital, Stout and at least one other person dropped the three oldest children off at a cafe in Woodbine, TX (eight miles out of Gainesville) and dropped the baby at a woman's house.
Stout was arrested when she tried to flee the scene and police are searching for the man who reportedly dropped off the baby. The children were admitted to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. Their conditions have not been released.
UPDATE: Stout and her boyfriend, Tracy Escobedo, have been both been indicted by a Cooke County jury in the acid burning of the four children. Stout claims that Escobedo was attempting to splash her with the sulfuric acid and got the children instead. All of the children were severely burned, of whom two remain in critical condition.

What the hell? Your kids get burned by acid, so you... drop them off at a cafe?
My brain can't process this.

Something to remember here is that sulfuric acid is really only used in creating two things, cement (or concrete can't remember) and more substantially in this case methamphedamines. Which would explain the parents eagerness to abandon and to not be associated with the children. Also my parents live in Woodbine and the Tin Star Cafe is quite literally the only thing other than houses and an elementary school which would be closed at night. There are no gas stations so at least these people didn't dump the kids in a field...

Jesus H., she claims he was trying to SPLASH her with sulfuric acid, but hit all 4 kids instead? Come up with a reasonable story, lady.
Kids dealing with parents this dumb deserve some kind of medal, imo.

Too bad meth doesn't make a person sterile. And if the parents organs weren't f-ed up by the drugs, I'd say to harvest their organs as their death penalty and use that cash to pay for the kids psychiatrist for life; they are probably going to need it.
