Cheese heroin overdose may be responsible for death of Dallas teenager
... and it's the second such drug-related death this week.
In what some take as an indication that a big shipment of heroin has recently reached the streets of Dallas, 15-year-old Marisol Prado died this Wednesday (Jan. 14) of what appears to be an overdose of cheese heroin. Ms. Prado was a student at Thomas Jefferson High School.
This comes on the heels of the suspected death by cheese overdose earlier this week of another local girl, aged 17.

Can these kids not read or not understand the warnings about cheese? Are they that dam stupid that they keep using this crap, even after the news, the schools, and the cops have said it is merely repackaged heroin? It is sad to see any child die, but if you are 17 and don't have the common sense to stay away from that mess, there isn't much help for you anyway.

Well A.T., I doubt we will see Cheese madness any time soon, but aren't teens supposed to be hip on all the latest cool and uncool stuff? Teen, tweens, and pre-teens can tell you all the latest songs, what styles are in and out, who's who in Hollywood 90210 land, etc. It seems to me that once a couple kids died of that mess, the word would have gotten around. Maybe this is merely natural selection at work, as harsh as that may sound.

At least his death will be a good example to what happens when you have some cheese.

Regretfully, these kids found out too late about the dangers of cheese heroin, thousands of kids became heroin users believing that Cheese was a fad and would pass, unfortunately Cheese was Heroin and it is extremely addictive and deadly, as more than 30 teen agers have died of Cheese heroin overdoses.
The drug was sold for $2 a hit, many were duped and for $2 they have become heroin addicts, Ms. Prado went through rehab but could not kick this very addictive killer drug, she tried.
The war on Cheese Heeroin must continue at all levels, parent awareness, aggresive intediction, public education campaigns, comprehensive rehabilitation and human compassion.

$2 a hit! Holy *&*%.
Accion - as a Dad I owe you BIG TIME. I hadn't a real grasp of the treachery, but good heavens, that is sinister. $2, that is friggin' scary. I knew its was in the "cheap" range, but LORD! That significantly changes my view of the subject and how I'll be dealing with the kidlets.
Thank you so much

Man, gone are the days when the first hit was free.
Anyway, yeah. I can't believe anyone is dumb enough to still fall for these things. Then again, maybe I was always an overly paranoid kid about illicit substances. Didn't even start drinking until senior year.

I agree that we must continue to spread the word about this deadly Cheese Heroin. We must seek out any and all reading material on the subject and do our part as parents to educate our children. I believe there is a book coming out soon on the subject.

I knew Marisol. I went to the same rehab as she did right before her death. I have read many articals and comments that make Marisol look like a bad person. But from knowing her personally, I understand that she was a girl with many problems. She was young and vunerable looking for ways to cope with her problems. I believe she was too young to overcome the problems herself like I was able to luckily. Im not saying that it makes it okay to do drugs, but I just want to put that out there for the people who think she is stupid for making the choices that she did.
