Disbarred Dallas attorney gets probation for 2007 Northpark shoplifting incident
From the sound of it, shoplifting isn't the only thing extra-legal in former Dallas defense attorney Catherine Shelton's past. In fact, the judge who sentenced her on Friday (Jan. 16) to three years probation (with a two-year prison-time kicker if she violates) actually used the word "mendacity" as part of his commentary in regard to the sentence. (Haven't heard that since my last reading of Tennessee Williams.)
Shelton was convicted of stealing a thousand-dollar purse, a couple of shirts - and a candle! - from Nordstroms in Northpark back in November of 2007.
