Most wanted” sex offender, murderer could be hiding in Pleasant Grove or Seagoville, say police

2

North Texas police are searching for one of their most wanted today, Dany Ivie, and are asking for help from the citizens.

Considered one of the "Dirty Dozen," a name given to the 12 most wanted sex offenders in Dallas-Fort Worth, Ivie has been convicted of murder, sexual assault of a minor, aggravated assault and burglary. He is currently wanted for failing to register as a sex offender. Police believe he could be hiding out in Pleasant Grove or Seagoville.

Those with information are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 214-373-TIPS. (Photo of Ivie in story linked above.)

unforgiven says:

You've got to be kidding me! This guy is a convicted murderer and you headline him as a wanted sex offender. I would think a murderer would be the worst of the worst. Sex offender could mean anything, but murder means only one thing, he killed someone. Your story is vague as to not specify if he killed the minor that he sexually assaulted or someone else. People are tired of this kind of reporting, so please, in the future try to tell the entire story instead of repeating a couple of sound bites.

Rawlins Gilliland says:

I assume they meant the suspect could be 'hiding in Southeast Dallas or Seagoville', unless they specifically meant that they thought he was in the 3 mile X 2 mile SE Dallas neighborhood of Pleasant Grove (Bruton Rd. to Hawn 175, Jim Miller Rd to St. Augustine.) In which case, it seems; it would be easy to catch him if he's specifically in one of SE Dallas' eight neighborhoods. Strange.
