Dallas salad chain Greenz opening cafe inside new Equinox Fitness Club in Highland Park
DALLAS A branch of Greenz, the salad chain, is going into the new Equinox Fitness Club in Highland Park, in the spot on Oak Lawn where Park Place Motor Cars used to be.
This will be the first time a Greenz goes into a fitness club but it makes a good match since Greenz serves "healthy" items such as salads, and having a location inside a fitness club is perhaps a safer bet than a standalone store such as the one at Preston and Forest that closed last year.
Equinox is slated to open February 9 and is predictably eager to sell you a membership. If you call and ask any questions about what kind of food concept is going into their cafe space, they will quickly switch you over to a membership associate who can't really discuss the details of the cafe concept nor do they want to discuss fees on the phone but cannot wait for you to come in and see the club in all its glory. Why do all health clubs, even the semi-famous ones that come in from New York and Miami such as Equinox, employ such horrid sales techniques?

Interesting choice. I'm a big fan of Greenz, so it will be interesting to see them inside a health club. I actually think Equinox will be opening up on this Tuesday. (February 3rd) I'm actually a member and hated that they wouldn't give me a pricing over the phone, but my curiosity made me go check them out. It definitely lives up to all of the buzz we have been hearing in Park Cities. You need to check it out and see what is different about it. You will be blown away!

Pretense? Upscale buffoonery? I know someone who was set to make a major investment in Equinox. The Equinox people made him wait so long before their meeting that he got up, told the receptionist to forget it and he walked out, million in tow. Anyone wanna place bets on how long this place lasts?
