Governor Rick Perry reappoints Harry Crumpacker to TWU Board of Regents
Gov. Rick Perry has announced the reappointment of Harry L. Crumpacker II of Prosper to the Texas Woman’s University Board of Regents.
Mr. Crumpacker, whose original appointment was set to expire in February, will take over the remaining term of former regent Sharon Venable of Dallas, who resigned from the board last year. Mr. Crumpacker’s current appointment expires Feb. 1, 2011.
“I look forward to continuing to serve Texas in what I consider one of the state’s most vital services to its citizens — providing a quality higher education for the workforce of the future,” Mr. Crumpacker said.
Mr. Crumpacker was first appointed as a TWU regent in 2003 and has served as the chair and presiding officer of the TWU Board of Regents since 2007.
“I am very pleased with the reappointment of our board chair,” said TWU Chancellor Ann Stuart. “Mr. Crumpacker’s contributions will continue to be immeasurable as we look ahead to the completion of a new science building in Denton and the construction of the new TWU T. Boone Pickens Institute of Health Sciences-Dallas Center.”
Mr. Crumpacker is the retired chief executive officer for the Morrison Milling Company in Denton. He is a board member of the Community Council of Greater Dallas, the Texas Food and Fiber Commission and the Alliance for Higher Education. He has previously served on the boards of the North American Millers’ Association and the United Way of Denton County. Mr. Crumpacker received a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia and a master’s degree from American University in Washington, D.C.
This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Texas Senate.
