North Richland Hills partners with BISD to host parenting seminar

The North Richland Hills Recreation Center and the Birdville Council of PTAs are hosting the 2009 Parenting Solutions Seminar and Youth Summit on Saturday, January 24, 2009. The Free Parenting Seminar will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the NRH Recreation Center, located at 6720 N.E. Loop 820. Parents and youth are welcome to participate in this free educational opportunity.

The Parenting Seminar session topics include: early childhood education, raising boys, raising girls, green families, economic literacy, creative writing for teens, partnerships between parents and educators, combating the stigma of mental illness in teens, the power of friendships, and much more! Youth participants will have the opportunity to choose from age-appropriate workshops. A continental breakfast will be provided and childcare for ages 1 to 11 years is free of charge. Pre-registration for childcare is required due to limited availability. Door prizes will be included for parents registered for the seminar.

The Parenting Workshop came about as a collaborative effort between Birdville Council of PTA’s and NRH Recreation Center.
