Dallas-based Envy Publications forges mighty merger with freebie Replay Sports Monthly
Replay Sports Monthly, the first and only sports/lifestyle magazine in Dallas/Fort Worth, is merging with ENVY Publications, to create an extremely strong and combined local presence in the areas of entertainment, culture and sports. ENVY Publications, the premiere lifestyle magazine, will now showcase two publications to include ENVY Magazine and Replay Sports Monthly. The publication merger took effect January 19.
The key players who will oversee Replay Sports Monthly include Shane Long, CEO and Publisher; Paul Salfen, Editorial Director; Timm Matthews, Editor-in-Chief and Tom Fireoved, Executive VP of Sales and Marketing.
The merger with ENVY Publications will influence Replay Sports Monthly by offering a broader reach into the market via their existing partnerships and by bringing a more aggressive feel to Replay. ENVY Publications plans to continue its expansion and is looking at the possibility of purchasing another publication or moving into another market by the end of the year.
Replay Sports Monthly is currently available to readers in Dallas and is distributed at Dallas Mavericks basketball games, Dallas Stars hockey games and other sporting events. Replay Sports Monthly can also be found in Dallas hotels, restaurants and sports bars.
"This is an exciting time for ENVY Publications," said Shane Long, CEO/Publisher of Replay Sports Monthly. "As promised, we are expanding as a company and we can't wait to add Replay to the fold and add a little ENVY flavor to it."
Kirby Schlegel, former CEO/Publisher of Replay Sports Monthly who now brings his expertise and vision to the board of ENVY Publications added, "For several years I've noticed a niche that wasn't being filled in the Dallas/ Fort Worth media market. I think Replay Sports Monthly is the right magazine at the right time. It's an edgy, feature oriented sports/lifestyle magazine that has compelling stories on athletes and teams as well as short, interesting pieces on the things we all care about like health, travel and money."
Recent issues of Replay Sports Monthly have featured interviews with such notable sports celebrities as Tony Romo, Terrell Owens, Jason Kidd, Mike Modano and Jimmy Johnson.
