Owners of Industry Bar in Addison are remodeling, not closing as the rumor-mongering emails say
- Received emails last week hinting that the Industry Bar had closed down because they'd been illegally using the previous owner's liquor license.
- Called Industry Bar a number of times over the past few days; no one answered.
- Finally reached owner Steve Williams, who is also trying to open 2one4 in February, and who said that they were simply doing a remodel of Industry Bar as their Website claims.
- Didn't think it was worth mentioning but then saw that Nancy at D had received same emails.
- Wondered about the emails in the first place.
- Also wondered about the unseemly world of bars, since one of the fellows who once co-owned Industry Bar also owned the property where 2one4 is about to open, which is reportedly being delayed because of ... a problem with liquor licenses.

Remodeling? Excellent! I used to love that place when I went to UTD. Then Scott & I revisited it, and the owner (I think?) listened to our input and changed the music for us. Then the next time, we got free vodka & t-shirts. Then the next time the music was way too loud, the crowd was annoying, and it just stopped being my kinda bar.
Maybe with the remodeling, I'll have another walkable place in Addison to pour booze into myself! (Gotta support your local businesses, folks.)

Interesting that they would take on a “remodel” of a functioning property (especially a sports bar the week of the Super Bowl) when it is obvious they are seriously delayed in opening 2ONE4, as their websites and press release have been promising an open since fall 2008. Rumor out there also suggests they are being sued by an investor. Seems there are more problems than meet the eye with this one…

Again, hival. Appreciate the participation. Send us some documentation and we'll look into it. Until then, no attacks like this.

In other news, even though the DJ is usually unbearable sitting outside at Industry ain't bad.
